Teamleader PLC Software Engineering

Senior PLC Software Engineer with organizational and leadership skills

 

The department PLC Software Engineering is responsible for programming control software for new projects based on technical specifications. In addition to creating, the department also makes improvements, expansions and modifications to existing software.

For this position, we are open to a Lead PLC Software Engineer with organisational and leadership skills. The most important responsibilities of the Teamleader PLC Software Engineering are:

 

Planning capacity PLC Software Engineers

As a Teamleader you are responsible for planning activities concerning projects/work assignments for your group. You distribute work assignments among the available employees (also subcontracted work to third parties), taking into account their knowledge, expertise and availability. With all your knowledge and experience you are a source of information for your team members and for other departments inside the organization such as Sales and Services. You are taking care of a warm welcome for new colleagues with an introduction program that fits to the new employee. You assesses the quality and skills of available employees and advises Manager Engineering on training plans. Together with the manager you take care of appraisals and assessment interviews with employees.

 

Developing PLC applications

In collaboration with a multidisciplinary project team you or your team develops PLC applications and the user manual of applications. Your team implements and tests the applications in a virtual environment and afterwards on location in the Netherlands or abroad. In addition to the user manual, the team gives instructions to the customer’s staff and provide (telephone) support in case of malfunctions. The task of the teamleader is to organize this with the needed VanRiet quality.

 

Execution within project team

PLC Software Engineers are part of a project team that works in various phases: from design to execution. Together with colleagues from different disciplines, you or your team members discuss the composition of functional descriptions and technical specifications. With your creativity and versatility, you advise in cooperation with your team the development of concepts and system solutions. Your knowledge and expertise will also be required for standardisation projects.

Vereisten

Our new colleague:

  • has demonstrable organizational and leadership skills (1 – 5 years)
  • has a solid knowledge on PLC programming of machinery, with at least Siemens TIA portal experience
  • has good communicational skills;
  • is and is a real team player;
  • has a strong belief in technical developments in cooperation with R&D;
  • has a has a Bachelor’s degree in applied science;
  • has a plus having experience in parcel handling or warehouse and distribution;
  • is willing to work around occasionally on location, both in the Netherlands and abroad;
  • is a go-getter and does not have a 9 to 5 mentality;
  • is stress resistant;
  • masters the Dutch and English language in both word and writing, German is a plus.
